你要擊打磐石，從磐石裡必有水流出來，使百姓可以喝。（《出》 17: 6 ）
神所重用的人物，都是飽經折磨和擊打的。因為神所喜悅的祭品，是憂傷痛悔的心。一粒麥子必須落在地裡死了，才能結出無數的子粒來。所以，神必須掰開打碎一切，然後才重用他們。
