感謝神,賜我救贖主,感謝神,豐富預備;

感謝神,過去的同在,感謝神,主常蔭庇。

感謝神,賜溫暖春天,感謝神,蕭索秋景;

感謝神,抹乾我淚,感謝神,賜我安寧。

Thanks to God for my Redeemer; Thanks for all Thou dost provide!
Thanks for time now but a memory; Thanks for Jesus by my side!
Thanks for Pleasant, balmy spring time; Thanks for dark and dreary fall!
Thanks for tears by now forgotten; Thanks for peace within my soul!

感謝神,禱告蒙應允,感謝神,未蒙垂听;

感謝神,渡過了風暴,感謝神,豐富供應。

感謝神,賜我苦與樂,感謝神,絕望得慰;

感謝神,無比的慈愛,感謝神,無限恩惠。

Thanks for prayers that Thou hast answered; Thanks for what Thou dost deny!
Thanks for storms that I have weathered; Thanks for all Thou dost supply!
Thanks for pain and thanks for pleasure; Thanks for comfort in despair!
Thanks for grace that none can measure; Thanks for love beyond compare!

感謝神,賜路旁玫瑰,感謝神,玫瑰有刺;

感謝神,賜家庭溫暖,感謝神,盼望福祉。

感謝神,賜喜樂憂愁,感謝神,屬天安寧;

感謝神,賜明天盼望,感謝神,永遠不停。

Thanks for roses by the wayside; Thanks for thorns their stems contain!
Thanks for home and thanks for fireside; Thanks for hope that sweet refrain!
Thanks for joy and thanks for sorrow; Thanks for heavenly peace with Thee!
Thanks for hope in the tomorrow; Thanks through all eternity!

            在痛苦中沒有埋怨卻充滿感謝,就好像黑暗里夜鶯的歌聲,多麼罕見,何等珍貴!

          用神的角度、視野來面對世間的“禍”與“福”,也不是常人能理解或擁有的真智慧。誰不總是只欣賞玫瑰的“花”而忽略它的“刺”?有多少人能在向神求平安、如意的同時,也能正視挫折,為痛苦而感恩?因為神听了禱告而歡欣的人比比皆是,但為“禱告未蒙應允”向神感恩的人卻少之又少。

       瑞典的史篤慕 (August Ludvig Storm,1862-1914)作的這首聖詩(Hymn)深深感動著全世界許多的人,因為他是一個鮮活的見證。37歲就因背疾而癱瘓,但他從未間斷他事奉神的工作。去世前又作一感謝詩,為那安詳的歲月感謝神,也為那些病痛的日子向神感恩。他真正做到了“凡事謝恩”(《帖前》5:18)。一個不局限於個人 的經歷,能體貼和明白神全備心意的基督徒,才能像保羅在監獄捆鎖之中仍能歌唱,在面對殉道之前仍能寫下:“凡事要奉我們主耶穌基督的名,常常感謝父神。” (《弗》5:20)

           這首聖詩有32個感謝(Thanks to God),但怎能說盡我們一生對神的感謝呢?
